OWL Rafting’s accommodation and camping options are reserved for guests of OWL’s rafting trips and packages. We have 3 great options for you to choose from. The majority of OWL’s overnight guests camp! Our rustic cabins offer a roof over your head and a bed to sleep on. For a taste of luxury, try our NEW Cabañas.

Water Front Camping

We have 3 large camping areas; 2 for tent camping and 1 for RVs and trailers. In each camping area you will find picnic tables and garbage & recycling bins. Sites cannot be reserved in advance: selection is first come, first serve. Our field-style sites offer both water views and tree-shaded lawns. Our largest camping area does not have car access, but we provide push carts to get your gear from your car in the parking lot to your chosen site. Our smaller tent camping area allows you to park near your camping spot. In all accommodations, we ask that you are considerate of the other groups around you.

Trailers & RVs are welcome at no extra cost. RVs and Trailers will be directed to our camping area where the ground is harder and can accommodate larger vehicles without sinking into the grass. Note that there are no water or power hookups.

Fires are not permitted in the camp grounds. You may use your own portable cook stoves or BBQs. We invite you to join other rafthers at one of our 2 designated areas for camp fires. These fire pits are registered and permitted with the county: fines may apply if you light a fire outside of one of the 2 designated areas.

Our camping options and prices are based on you providing your own equipment. Tent Rentals, sleeping pads & blankets are available at an additional cost; please reserve from our office. Tent rentals will NOT be set up for you.

Rustic Cabins

If you don’t have a tent, or want the comfort of a roof and walls, OWL’s rustic cabins offer a basic upgrade from tent camping. Each cabin has enough space for 6 people to share cozily in two double beds and two single bunks. All cabins have electrical outlets. Please remember to bring your own bedding and pillows.

Washrooms are in a separate building, about fifty metres away. Our washrooms boast our clean and sanitary composting toilets and sinks.  Private outdoor showers are right behind the washhouse, along with another bank of sinks. We have hot running water piped to all the showers and sinks, preheated by solar. No cold showers here!

A Breakfast Fee will apply in addition to the cabin upgrade per person staying in the cabin.  If you wish to put more people in a cabin, please feel free (it’ll be cramped!) However, we ask that each person staying in your cabin pays our per person breakfast fee. If some of your group want to camp, they can do so right outside your cabin door.

Bedding Packages are available at an additional cost (limited quantities). The packages are prepared in a hostel style, for you to make up the beds when you arrive. Bedding packages will be available at the office if you check in before 8 pm. After 8 pm we will arrange to have your bedding moved to your cabin waiting for you. Late check-ins are easily accommodated: we will leave you a note at the office telling you which cabin is yours and you can move right in. Please sign in at the office the next morning before breakfast.

NEW En–Suite Cabañas

NEW in 2017: our airy two person luxury cabanas.

Enjoy your evening on the back porch of your cabana by OWL’s sandy beach and wind down the day watching the moon rise over the lake. Rise with the sun and head to our main pavilion to start your day with a locally sourced coffee. Bring your coffee back to the Cabana or enjoy it fireside in the open post and beam pavilion. The bell will ring to call you for our buffet-style breakfast.

Bedding is included with your cabana accommodation. The Cabanas includes a basic en suite with a composting toilet and water basin for hand washing. You are welcome to use our main washhouse facilities, which include sauna, private outdoor showers,  and hot water sinks.

These airy cabanas are equipped with screened windows to keep the bugs out and curtains for privacy. There is no glass in the windows: fresh air provides natural air conditioning. Cuddle up under a warm duvet or escape from the city’s heat. We added roll down windshields this spring to help keep you warm on the cool nights.

Quiet Hours

We ask that all overnight guests respect our noise curfew. On Sunday to Thursday our quiet hour is 11 pm; on Friday and Saturday our quiet hour is 1 am.

On our busy Saturday nights during the main summer months, OWL provides live entertainment in our pavilion and everyone is welcome; this usually wraps up around midnight. Many families appreciate knowing what is going on in advance, so please feel free to ask our office staff when reserving what the plans are for your stay.

Other Accommodation Options
