Package Overview
The Low + Medium Intensity Whitewater Rafting Package is a three day experience starting with a gentle low intensity whitewater rafting trip progressing to our medium intensity Adventure Rafting while staying at the OWL waterfront resort playing and relaxing.
Whitewater Rafting Day 1 – Soft Adventure
Spend your first day on our great Canadian river trip – this is a travel-path forged by First Nations, traversed by fur traders since the 1600’s and fostered by foresters at the turn of the last century. An introduction to whitewater is a full day natural roller coaster where you’ll paddle as a team – your experienced guide steers from the stern – all you have to do is listen for directions, join in and have fun. This soft adventure trip descends 8 km of beautiful scenery and tumbling whitewater, interspersed with quiet pools where you get to body surf and float in the friendly warm waters.
As the currents calm down, we transfer to the comfort of our signature Pontoon Boat where your dry clothes and a feast of freshly prepared grilled buffet awaits. Relax and reenergize while you cruise back to the OWL Resort via the historical route of the First National viewing the rugged beauty of the Canadian Shield. Once back at the resort your guides will show a video presentation where you can relive your day’s adventure!
Whitewater Rafting Day 2 – Adventure
Your second day you advance to the Adventure Rafting trip on a large raft built for bigger whitewater. This type of rafting is suitable for guests who weigh a minimum of 90lbs (41kgs). You’ll paddle, splash, and roll down more challenging routes of the Ottawa River. Your experienced and passionate guide controls the raft using oars at the back, while you are paddling with your crew. You’ll get a chance to body surf and float, and possibly do some cliff jumping too – it’s up to the river!
*All participants are required to paddle.
Resort
During your stay you get full access to the OWL Resort, play a round of frisbee golf, a game of beach volleyball, or relax on the beach. Ice cream, snacks, cold drinks and ice are available for sale on site. We also boast a large floating swim dock with slide, SUPs, kayaks, canoes, a life size maze, and a hot sauna.

This package is built as a gentle progression into the world of whitewater rafting, suitable for guests who weigh a minimum of 90llb (41kg). Geared primarily towards families who have mixed interests – raft together one day with the children on our low intensity trip, then upgrade to our medium intensity trip on day two!

Camping
In our three large camping areas you will find picnic tables and garbage & recycling bins. Sites cannot be reserved in advance – selection is first come, first serve. Our field-style sites offer both water views and tree-shaded lawns. Our smaller tent camping area allows you to park near your camping spot.
Trailers & RVs are welcome at no extra cost. We also have serviced RV sites with power and water hook-ups. More info below.
Fires are not permitted in the camp grounds, there are two fire pits lit every evening for you to enjoy. Portable cook stoves or BBQs are allowed at your campsite.
Please note that camping equipment isn’t included in this package unless booked separately.

Glamping
Offering all the benefits of sleeping under the stars without having to rough it too much. Enjoy the intimacy of your own canvas tents, set up on wooden platform, each with two individual beds that have cozy duvets – slide them together to make a King. A short roll by cart transports your personal gear to the private spot overlooking the water = glamourous camping.

Cabins
Our cabins sleep 4 – 6 people in two double beds and two single top bunks. All cabins have electrical outlets. Please remember to bring your own bedding and pillows.
Washrooms are in a separate building, with private outdoor showers heated with solar!

Cabañas
Enjoy our waterfront suite with great views of the sunset and sunrise. Bedding is included as well as a basic en suite with a composting toilet and water basin. You are welcome to use our main washhouse facilities, which include sauna, private outdoor showers, and hot water sinks.

RV Sites
Bring your own RV! Our RV sites include electrical and water hook-ups. These sites are centrally located close to all OWL Resort amenities. Step out of the comfort of your home on wheels and gear up for your day of rafting on the Ottawa River!
