Multi-Year Family Rafting Trips
Joanne Wilson has been coming whitewater rafting with OWL Rafting for 3 years! She goes on to tell us why she falls more and more in love with our rafting trips and how great it is to spend time on the Ottawa River with her family.
“Hello! We came across OWL Rafting during the first summer of COVID while looking for a family activity that all the kids could enjoy (ages 10, 15 and 16 at the time) at a reasonable price, as our family business was not doing well. My husband and I had gone with another rafting company before and decided to try OWL Rafting this time. When I called to book, the person on the other end was very helpful and provided all the information needed. Due to COVID, only the medium intensity Adventure Rafting trips were running, making our decision easy; we thoroughly enjoyed our first trip!
For our second trip the following summer, we needed a little bit more assistance with planning as we had acquired a service dog for our child. OWL Rafting was able to accommodate us and the dog (during the rafting). This year, we were determined to do the high intensity Sport Rafting trip, even though I was quite stressed about the safety of the kids. Everyone at the resort reassured me that the kids would be fine and our guide Moose was a delight! He kept the trip upbeat, informative, and FUN! The kids had a blast on the water and stated that high intensity was the best!
After trying out a couple of whitewater resorts, both my husband and I can confidently say that OWL Rafting is the way to go. The company is smaller and therefore has a more personalized approach – you are not just a number! Additionally, we cannot emphasize enough that the staff are tremendous. We have had the honor of having Tim, Moose 1.0, and now Moose 2.0, guide us down the Ottawa River, each explaining every rapid prior to the descent and effectively alleviating any concerns. OWL surpassed our expectations and we look forward to seeing everyone next summer and every summer after that!”
